SUBSCRI...
Have you ever set a goal and you've chased after it with everything you had and you ended up absolutely exhausted or burned out in the process? If that's you, this episode is for you. Today, I'm sharing the secret on achieving bold goals without sacrificing your health, your family or your faith. So, my friend, welcome back to the Fit Soul Podcast, episode number 141. Today I want to share with you the secret to achieving bold goals without sacrificing what matters most. This is part two of a series that I am calling the alignment advantage, and I shared, in episode number 140, a story, and I'll just kind of real quickly recap that story.
Speaker 1:There was a time in my life where I was going after bold goals. I was moving, I was shaking, I was climbing the ladder, baby, I was getting things done, but you know what it cost me? It cost me my health. I wasn't paying attention to the signs and to the symptoms of burnout. I didn't have rest and recovery built into my life. I was so focused on moving forward and doing that that I lost. I lost that place of alignment and, man, it was difficult. So I hit clinical burnout and I was not frustrated with myself, but I just knew that I was not going to continue doing things the way I did, and sometimes we learn by paying attention to little symptoms and little things along the way, and then sometimes we fall flat on our face and what I have learned in my life is that I don't I'm not, I'm not scared of failing, that I know that I can learn from it and move forward, and so that's what I decided to do, but in fact, I didn't trust myself for a long time. After, that episode is like can I achieve, how can I basically, how can I steward this ambition that I have? Like, this is the way that God made me and I don't know what to do with all of this energy and this passion that I have in a way that's healthy. I really didn't know if I could move forward with this podcast in my business without getting out of alignment, and so I just I. I was really.
Speaker 1:You know they talk about the fear of failure. That's, my biggest fear is that I'm out of alignment with the Lord, and so, anyhow, all that to say, it caused me to really do life differently and to put guardrails, slash God rails in place in my life. So I don't go back because I know my propensity. I know how I am wired and if you're any, if you're listening to this and you're like, oh girl, same girl, same Like, if you are on that struggle bus with just like, going nonstop and all in type of personality. I believe it's the way God made us. But learning how to disciple and steward that ambition H and L whole, nother level. That's where I learned about the habits, hyper, the science of high-performance habits, and this started to change my life. And then God gave me a whole mission around it to utilize. I call them the faith fueled high-performance habits, really taking a biblical, scriptural approach to these habits, these six habits, and learning how to adjust my life based on these habits. And number one that first thing is is like I ended the podcast with last week is seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and everything else will be added unto you in that place.
Speaker 1:For an ambitious person, sometimes it's hard to surrender. Sometimes it's it's like we we feel so passionate about what we're doing and then we've got all of this energy resources, um, and stuff tied into it and and we can. You can't see me, but I'm standing with my fist clenched and like, oh, is God going to take that away from me and I just want to share with you right now, before we even dive into this podcast, is that you know what? The most beautiful thing that we can do as believers is surrender. Open those hands up, open like straight out open. Lord, if you want this, let's roll. If you don't take it away, I'm good either way, like that's a courageous prayer.
Speaker 1:But here's the thing I believe that God calls us to certain things, to walk worthy of our calling. I believe that God wants us to move forward and not doubt that he's called us, and that I also believe that God can and does pivot us along the way, but it is always powerful when we set our goals in in with God's assignment and alignment for our lives. Okay, our goals move us forward, our goals put legs to our dreams, and one of the things that I had determined in my life that I really wanted to do was never get out of alignment again, and news flashed so that was several years ago that I started to like okay, how can I do this? God started to call me back into what you're basically seeing now. I had a mission over my life then, and it was to walk worthy of my calling and to powerfully use my voice and help others walk worthy. That's my mission.
Speaker 1:So now, everything I do, I'm like does this fall up underneath this umbrella? Am I walking worthy of my own calling and am I using my voice powerfully to help others? Now listen, if you don't know my story. My story is I used to hide and shrink and I didn't want my voice to be known at all. There's no way. So like this is a whole God thing that I'm even here on this podcast and I speak on stages. But I'm so passionate now about I found freedom. I tasted it, I see and I want that freedom for you.
Speaker 1:And when I had to learn not to hustle and not to strive but to surrender, that doesn't mean I'm not putting in the hours. Believe you me, working hard is in my DNA. I enjoy working hard. So it's not about taking an easy road. You've got to put the action in. You've got to honor the hard, you've got to go, do the thing. Things don't just happen. We can't just say, okay, lord, I surrender, I surrender all and then sit back on your haunches. No, that is not. That is not God's plan for anybody's life. We are called to purpose. We are called to good works, we are called to service. Can I get an amen on whatever day you watch listening to this?
Speaker 1:So one of the things that the Lord really showed me is that realignment with him, and the more that I operate regularly, surrendering, regular, like daily, seeking him first his will for my life everything else is added unto me. The more I seek him, I'm like, okay, lord, you're calling me to this, I need your wisdom. James tells me that you'll give me all the wisdom that I need for this moment. Lord, I want to partner with you in every aspect of my life. I don't want to do anything without you, god. I've done it on my own and you know what. Been there got the t-shirt. Don't want it. I want to live my life for his kingdom and I want to live my life and operate in a way where I'm a light for him. And here's the thing I believe that we can be a light. Keep our families as our priorities, keep our health and wellness in check and go crush it in whatever he's calling us to do, whether that's ministry, whether that's business. I believe that there's prosperity in all of these things. Okay, well, one of the things that I want to just give you a couple of things that I do and I practice daily. Like I said, I've got this high-performance planner coming out. You know what's kind of funny. We can go back and listen to this episode and laugh. In fact, if you're listening, if you're listening to this episode after the planner has been released, it is fully written.
Speaker 1:There are a few select clients who have my clients, my one on one coaching clients that have a copy of this and we're working in. They're working in a coaching container to move their lives forward. In fact, oh my gosh, let me tell you, I got off of a coaching call with one of my clients today and she's actually never worked with a coach one on one and we're working on three goals, and so I'm working. If you've never worked with a coach one on one-one and we're working on three goals, and so I'm working. If you've never worked with a coach one-on-one, let me tell you it is game changer and, if you want to know, I do accept one-on-one clients and would love to help you achieve your goals. So she is a coach and she's getting ready to launch her business and it's going to be amazing. I'm so excited. What she does is so amazing. I can't tell you right now, but maybe I'll get her on the podcast once she gets everything at least at a place where she can kind of launch her business. But I asked her today. I always ask the same question when I check in with my clients Tell me something good.
Speaker 1:That's happened since our last session and she looked at me on Zoom and she said I feel unstoppable. I was like, oh my gosh, I totally got chills, like I just got chills resharing that story Because she is in motion and it's creating momentum. Something so powerful happens when we get emotion and it creates momentum. And so finding that sweet spot of, as I opened, with the seeking God first, the surrender and the let's go, baby, let's go is a it truly does feel unstoppable when you are in alignment with your assignment, when you are partnered with God. Let me tell you something, oh my goodness, ephesians 3.20. Now, to him who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly. Above all, we can ask, think or imagine, according to his, what Riches in Christ Jesus. When you partner with God in your life, just know. And when you believe life, just know. And when you believe, amazing things can happen.
Speaker 1:I went for a walk this morning. I go for a walk every morning. I love to walk. I don't bring my phone because I get so distracted on my phone. So I had.
Speaker 1:I was on my walk this morning and I was just reading through the. I'm reading through the gospels right now. It was reading through the different parables of the seed and how Jesus used the metaphor of a seed to explain the kingdom of God. And it's so interesting. In fact, ringdy and I, my husband and I sat and had a conversation, drinking coffee, sitting in our little keeping room, and I said you know what? It's so amazing that Jesus talks about a mustard seed and then the parable of the sower who throws out the seed and the one that's fruitful. Like just processing this whole idea of how Jesus speaks about the kingdom of God through a seed and in the seed, in the seed. Oh gosh, I'm reading a really good book. What did he say? It's Organized Reality.
Speaker 1:Organized Reality is a book by Dallas Willard. It's called the Scandal of the Kingdom Scandalous Kingdom. I don't have the book in front of me, something like that. You can look it up, dallas Willard. But he talks about the seed being oh. This is my paraphrase. I was not. I never should go off of my notes. I was not going to talk about this, but let me just go. I'm here, let's roll. Is that there's organized reality in a seed? Think about it when you plant. If you were to plant a watermelon seed, a watermelon seed, you're not going to get a stalk of corn right. So in this idea of a seed and this is where we get our fruitfulness from we're created and called to be fruitful. Okay, hang with me here. Hang with me here.
Speaker 1:I was on my walk this morning back to my walk and I'm a big John Acuff fan and he talks about an acorn and the power and the coolness of, I think he collects acorns. So I'm on my walk and I see an acorn and I grabbed that acorn up. And John Acuff talks about an acorn holds all the potential of a huge oak tree, and I just held that acorn in my hand. I was like, oh, this seed back to seed. This seed is organized reality. This could be an oak tree, and when I think about an oak tree, I think about an oak tree of righteousness and fruitfulness.
Speaker 1:Okay, so, that being said, the potential in each one of us to move forward on the things that we're called to do and pursuing that with clarity, with energy, with focus, with productivity, with excellence. It's all about our impact. It's all about this legacy that we're leaving. So us staying in alignment is everything. Can you agree? All right? So this planner that I've got coming out is going to help you. It's not just a planner, it's a whole system. I don't even know how to like fully share with you what it is. You're going to want to get your hands on it right away, I promise you. But oh, I just put my hands in my pocket and I found that little acorn. I've got that little acorn. You can't see it on the podcast. It's so cute. It's just this tiny little. I don't know, I'm not good at like mathematical sizes Maybe to keep you aligned daily.
Speaker 1:These are things I ask myself every single day. I literally journal through these questions and this is in my Walkworthy 90-Day Goal Planner. Now that name may change. So that's what I think. I started to say that we might laugh at this podcast. Later on, that name may change. I ended up writing the whole thing and then deciding that I needed to hire an agency to help me with the development of this, to make sure. It's just what it's supposed to be. Okay, here's a couple of questions. Are you ready? You might want to get a pencil and write these down or just think about them, but think about how your life could change if you did this every single day.
Speaker 1:Number one who do I say God is today? I love studying and knowing the different names and characteristics of God, and so I have a list of them. Actually, it's in the planner. I have a list of them that I just sit and look at. I'm like, okay, god is healer. God is the prince of peace. God is my friend. God is the alpha and omega. God is power. God is Abba. God is father. God is present. God is lamb of God. God is redeemer. God is protector. I don't have time to go through all of these right now. God is righteousness. This morning, when I filled this out, I was like God, you are faithful. That's who you are. That's who you are to me. You are faithful. There's something so powerful when we call upon the God of the universe. He is also our loving father, and just it reminds us of who he is. He is and he ain't going away. But we have to remind ourselves of who he is Okay. So this practice is powerful, right?
Speaker 1:Next thing these are just a few of the questions what do I need to let go and let him handle? Come on now. First, peter talks about casting all your cares upon God. I don't want to carry that anxiety and worry with me into my day to day, and I know you don't either. It's like what do you need to let go and let God handle Realignment. You see that.
Speaker 1:How do I want to show up today? Here's the other thing, like setting this powerful intention. How do I want to show up? Are you showing up as your most vibrant, amazing self? Are you stuck in a little bit of autopilot? Well, let's change that. Do you want to show up with joy? Do you want to show up with energy? Do you want to show up with focus? This changes for me every day. It's like what does this day need of me and how can I best honor it? This is how I want to show up as my best self. Okay.
Speaker 1:Next question what fear, distractions or doubts do I need to release? Really interesting when you start to do this every day. It's so interesting because oftentimes for me, I go to the distractions. It's like, oh, my phone. I can increase my productivity if I stayed more focused and, just like you, our phones right. But today I had to release a fear, like when we're in a stretchy season going through new things I don't care who you are, it's a little scary.
Speaker 1:I was sharing that with one of my coaching clients recently. She was just talking about how she feels a little fearful. You know she's stepping into new territories. I'm like, listen, every new territory I step into, I'm learning now that the fear and feeling that imposter syndrome and feeling the self-doubt it always arises. I just have to learn how to do a better job of surrendering that, releasing that, talking to myself instead of listening to the negativity that's in my brain, just like you.
Speaker 1:Okay, so what do I need to release? And then how will I release them? How do I release that? Learning who we are and our identity and a whole method and a framework I teach called the truth loop, and how do you like actually program your mind to the truth of who you already are so you can move forward? Okay, here's another question that I really love to ask myself is number one how can I get excited about bringing gratitude or joy into my conversations and environment. The actual question is what is the kind of energy or joy I want to carry into my home and conversation? You know, as women, we kind of set the tone for the atmosphere. What do I want that to be like and bring intention into that. What is one step? And here's, here's the thing.
Speaker 1:When you set goals in your life and I want to teach you how to do this, listen, I got a free workshop coming up. You definitely want to come to that. You can go to the fit soul dot com slash masterclass and join for free. But what when you start to work in 90-day goals? This is what started to legit change my I want to say productivity. It's not my productivity, it's my mission, it's the things that God's calling me to do. My capacity has increased because I have learned and not perfected. But this is what I teach, utilizing the high performance habits how to create this system in your life.
Speaker 1:90 day goals, one stretchy 90 day goal, couple others to support it, okay, so a whole system that I teach. Anyway, every day, I ask myself what is one step I can take today towards my 90 day goal. Today, as I was writing that, I was real quick to say all right, I'm actually recording this podcast on a Friday, and so one of my goals this next 90 days is a health and wellness related goal, which I highly recommend that you always have one, and mine is to shed a few extra pounds that have found their way back on my belly and my hips. So I'm working in a healthy way to just dial in my habits as they're supposed to be, and it's Friday and I know my triggers and I know where I start to sabotage it's on the weekends, like most of you. So what was my goal today was to stay with my foot on the accelerator on these good goals. Count my macros like I'm supposed to drink my water, like I'm supposed to eat the protein like I'm supposed to, and get my workout done first thing in the morning, because that's my only time to do it. So these are just a few of the questions, but can you imagine if you just asked yourself these questions every single day, how much further you would go?
Speaker 1:What's really beautiful is when you get into this place of alignment it starts to organize your brain instead of feeling so scattered and overwhelmed. And what do I do, which you know what, if you don't get organized in the morning each day, take a few minutes to get organized for each day. That's what it feels like and sometimes during the day I start to feel that way and I have to say, okay, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop. What? What is my priority right now? What is the most important thing right now? Let me get realigned the more we can align and realign and do that more regularly, you're going to find that your bold goals don't drain you. They fuel you and you can start to take small, consistent action steps every single day towards these things, and then we can know that we're seeking God first. We're aligning because we're seeking his kingdom. Everything else is going to be added to me and I also know that I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. I wrote that down this morning. I can do all things because some of this stuff is hard right. Here's the thing your goals aren't too big for God, but if they're too heavy for you to carry alone, when you release, when you align and when you activate, you walk in his strength.
Speaker 1:So I hope you enjoyed this episode. If you found value in this, would you please share it with a friend, share it on social media, all the things. And if you would do me a straight up, solid, go and download this. I don't even know about all this download situation stuff, but if you would go and download this episode and please leave me a review I don't ask that enough, but if you could leave me a review, I'd be very, very grateful. I would appreciate it so much. And if you're not signed up for that upcoming masterclass it is thefitsoulcom slash masterclass and we would love to have you join us absolutely free. I'm going to give you clarity. I'm going to teach more about the science of high performance habits. I'm going to give you some takeaways to help you get aligned so you can walk worthy of the calling inside you. All right, I want to say thank you for being here. I appreciate you so much. Be blessed, have an amazing day and bye-bye for now.
