Speaker 1:

Hello friends, welcome back to the Fit Soul Podcast. Oh, I'm so grateful, truly humbled, grateful, honored, that you meet me back here week after week, and I'm really lit up about a new series that we're starting today. This is episode 115, and we're starting a new series on Faith-Fueled Woman's Secret the Faith-Fueled Woman's Secret, and it's building a power circle that elevates your life. I am so convinced that for you to achieve what you want to achieve in this life, for you to truly reach your God's purpose, to live out the calling in your life, it is a matter of making sure that you are connected with others. This is one of the greatest strengths that we have, and there is a worldwide epidemic of loneliness. Now, before I jump into this content just really quickly, let me, I guess, a super quick intro if you're brand new to the podcast.

Speaker 1:

I am a number one follower of Jesus, so everything that I share and do comes from the lens of a biblical worldview, and I am a certified high performance coach, also life coach, fitness, health coach, like I've got a million certifications. However, the two that really come into play today are number one, follower of Jesus that always comes into play. Number two, certified high performance coach. There is such an epidemic of loneliness and one of the high performance habits there's there's we have a pillar and there's 12, but is having leadership and influence and persuasion. Well, you can't have that in a vacuum. And there's this whole misdemeanor of especially and I coach a lot of people that are online coaches I'm a business coach too. I have online coaches. I'm a business coach too. I have online businesses. There's such a sense of being in front of your computer or on your phone that you end up being very lonely. In fact, this is interesting.

Speaker 1:

I often work at my local coffee shops and you kind of get to know the people around you, and this was several years ago and there's a lady that was there and I've seen her before and just kind of casual hello. And I remember I went to this particular day. I went and I had to go crush it with some work. I had deadlines, like I was feeling the pressure. I think I got my coffee, sat down and was ready to dive into it and she came up to me. Now I don't even know her name, but she came up to me and said hey, do you think we could just talk? And I just remember thinking to myself uh, not right now. I mean, I didn't tell her that and my body language didn't show that. And I said, well, I would, I would love to to, maybe we can schedule an appointment. I think I just tried to schedule an appointment or whatever, but she continued on and it was really sad. She just went on to say how lonely she was, and all that to say. I feel like I've been there.

Speaker 1:

The end of last year I had to take a long, hard look and I do that every single year, I encourage you to do the same thing and thought okay, hey, what do I want here? What do I want? Moving forward, I crushed my business goals that I accomplished a lot, and to continue on that trajectory is going to demand this level of performance and work. And I had to take a look and go. I don't want that. I want more. What do I want? Let me ask you this in your life, what do you want? Do you want to feel more interconnected? There's no one that says no to that, and so that's what we're going to talk about in this series coming up, and how powerful and how quickly you can change, up-level your own happiness quota, that you can take your own network very quickly. You can take your own network Very quickly, you can turn some things around, but it requires actually demands intention on your part. And so let me just start this whole thing with what do you want when you think about this? What do you want? What I want to share with you is getting in the room. Getting in the room and how strategic relationships will help unlock your next level.

Speaker 1:

As I'm recording this podcast, I've just returned from my mastermind. It's a business mastermind and it's a group of high-level thinkers that are successful in their businesses. They've got a great growth mindset and they come in from all over, actually the world. There was a lady there from Denmark, there was a guy there from Finland, there were several people there from other countries I guess around 200, 250 of us. So it was a bigger place, but also an intimate gathering, and I joined this group to learn to learn from my mentor it's Brendan Brouchard and to learn strategies and to learn all of these things, but also to connect connect with other like-minded people.

Speaker 1:

And when I went to this, I want to share with you some very simple, practical takeaways. I've gone to networking events before and I'm really intentional about connecting with others, and then sometimes I can come away overwhelmed. I'm like, oh my gosh, I just met all of these incredible people and I can't remember their names and I've got business cards or I've got new phone numbers. You know, the way we connect now is you just add somebody's contact to your phone or connect online, and I didn't walk away haven't walked away successfully with some of the things that I've attended, feeling like I had a good grasp of really connecting and maximizing that opportunity. So I want to share with you some strategy that I used this time and it was super, super helpful.

Speaker 1:

But first of all, before I get to that, I want to share with you the importance of getting yourself into high-level rooms, getting yourself and investing into environments that will challenge you and that will stretch you. You know you're in trouble when you're the smartest person in the room. I always look for the room where there's way smarter people than you, and that's where I was this past weekend. I'm like whoa, in fact. Let me tell you a real quick story. When I went to the first meeting ever it was my first one there was a networking dinner after, like it was a full. So the way it works is there's a full day of keynotes and coaching and that's great. Like I love that stuff. I'm taking all these notes. We do some social learning while we're there Very valuable and then there's typically like networking opportunities even during the day and then at night.

Speaker 1:

So I went to this dinner and I was a little overwhelmed. No, I was a lot overwhelmed and I am not an introvert. I'm not an introvert. No, yeah, I'm not an introvert. I am more extroverted, but I think I probably somewhere I'm in the middle. Anyway, I found myself in this room and I walked in and these people have you ever walked into a room and you're like this is out of my league? That's how I felt in this room.

Speaker 1:

Immediately, I started to meet these incredibly successful entrepreneurs, several entrepreneurs in my space and they would just talk at levels. I'm like I just felt so small. In that moment I started to shrink man. Some negative, stinking thinking started to hit in insecurity, my self-doubt oh my gosh. It was plummeting so quickly, but I just sat at the table. I tried to almost do you know, have you ever tried to like kind of be a little bit invisible and maybe nobody would ask you a question? That's kind of where I was at that particular event and I just had to have a moment. I think I excused myself like, oh, I'm going to go grab some dinner, hoping nobody would ask me a question. I needed to go regroup. I wanted I'll tell you what I wanted to do.

Speaker 1:

This was in LA. I wanted to get an Uber and go and order room service in my hotel and not talk to anybody. Like I would just felt so insecure in that moment. The self-doubt was crazy. But I knew better. I knew that I needed to allow that discomfort. I knew that this was a growth opportunity for me.

Speaker 1:

So I went, I took my little plate, I went and sat in line, or stood in line to go get my food, hoping nobody would really talk to me. I happened to turn around and I saw a girl and I felt like she had the same look in her eyes that I did and I just looked at her and I could sense it. I'm like, oh, yeah, she's. She's kind of freaking out, like me. I'm like you know, I'm a little overwhelmed how about you? And she goes? Oh my gosh, I'm so overwhelmed. I said perfect. I said this is my first time she goes, this is mine, great. And we sat there and we connected and I regrouped. I had to talk to myself instead of letting the negativity take over, but even at that, it was just overwhelming, and sometimes those new opportunities that present themselves can be overwhelming. However, what I learned from that experience and the people that I met were invaluable, especially to go back again and like reconnect this time when I just came back from.

Speaker 1:

But I went in with a different mindset. I went in it wasn't my first rodeo. That's always a little bit, you know. The first time you do something anywhere, it doesn't matter, it's always a little bit unnerving, right? So the second time, in Miami, I went in with a different approach. I'm like, okay, and so here's what I want to share with you. Get a notebook out. You're going to want to write these notes down because I want you getting yourself in a room, level up your network by making an investment, getting to places that are going to fuel you and feed you, call you higher and challenge you. Right, and here's what I decided to do this time. I was like, ok, I'm going to go in and I'm going to like instead, I'm going to pace, instead of trying to get 25 different phone numbers, I'm going to get 10. In fact, I'm going to really remember the people that I connect with. I just want to connect with people and in a non-transactional way, like I'm not looking to have them join any of my businesses, although I'm not opposed to it. But I definitely didn't go in with that mindset and I wasn't looking to be sold either. It was just to connect and I just knew that if I had that energy and that vibe and that intention, it would just happen. So I did.

Speaker 1:

First person I met was coming down off the elevator. She had just gotten there from Canada. Oh man, I met a lot of people from Canada. She had just gotten there from Canada. We connected. I'm like her name was Vicki. She's awesome. I said Vicki, you're my number one.

Speaker 1:

I pulled up the notes section on my phone. I said I'm here to connect with 10 people. I said you're my number one and sure as the world. We stayed connected. I got to know more about her. We had a couple of lunches we sat beside each other and I just got to hear more of her story. She was amazing, and so I went with my notes, like I took notes when I would meet people, and what I here was my goal.

Speaker 1:

My goal was to go to network. I set a quota 10 people, like of course, I knew I was going to meet more than that, but I wanted to connect meaningfully with 10 like-minded people, people that were kindred spirits, people that I would like to continue connecting with after the event, like I really like them, like our spirits connected, right. So collecting, so that's the thing. Network non-transactionally. Number one. Number two go collect kindred spirits. So that was my goal. And then, number three I really wanted to make sure that I could follow up. So here's what I did I had the notes section on my phone and then, as I was meeting people and writing down their names and getting to know them a little bit more, I came back later and said okay, let's connect on social media, that's what you do now, that's what we do in this world.

Speaker 1:

We connect on social media. So I made let's connect on social media, that's what you do now, that's what we do in this world. We connect on social media. So I made sure I was connected on social media. I took a picture, we switched phone numbers, we switched email addresses and this week I have an intention to go and to follow up with every one of them there and just say, hey, it was amazing to meet you, so I didn't hit my quota of 10. I want to let you know that that was my goal.

Speaker 1:

I met a lot of people. I did switch phone numbers with actually more than 10, but there were seven, seven people I had real, true, meaningful conversations with. I'm fully integrated to. I know how to reach them on Instagram or Facebook, I have their phone number, I know their names and so that felt so, so good. So those three things again are number one. I guess it's four. Number one get yourself in that room with higher level thinkers where you're going to learn from them, you're going to learn from the environment. Get yourself in that Now. Many of you know that I have got my first event planned in March and I just want to take a moment right now and say, hey, get yourself in that room If you're looking to level up, if you're looking to have someone pour into you, if you are looking to connect with like-minded women.

Speaker 1:

This is a faith-fueled event. It's going to be amazing. I cannot wait for this event. The speakers let's just talk about it. Fire, oh my gosh. They're going to be be. They're so dynamic, the energy, the things that we have planned. Like this is gonna be so different than anything you've ever seen.

Speaker 1:

It is in Ridgeland, mississippi. It's the last weekend of March and people are flying in. People are coming locally, you name it. People are grabbing their tickets. It is an intimate gathering, um, and so you'll want to go ahead and grab your tickets. You can go to worthywomansummitcom and grab it. There's a registration, there's the um, there's. There's two different purchases that you can have there. There's the general ticket or there's the VIP experience, where you can go to dinner with all of the speakers and get some extra swag and have a special VIP seat and seating at the event. Get in a little early. Yep, that's the ticket I'd go for. Is that VIP? But anyway, I've got that event for you. I'd love for you to come If you're looking to level up, if you're looking to elevate, if you're looking to have new strategies for your future, health and wellness, also for your fashion, like confidence inside out.

Speaker 1:

Also, we're going to talk about high performance habits, productivity, time management, actual frameworks so you can implement, you can take it home with you and it change your life, not just for now but for a long time. And this is all from a faith-fueled approach to awaken your spirit. This will elevate your life and the goal, unleash your potential to go walk worthy. That's my mission, that's my calling is to activate you so you will go walk worthy of the calling inside of you. Let me just remind you right now, every day is a gift, and if you have breath in your lungs, god's got a plan and a purpose for your life, and so I would love to invite you to that Again. You can go to worthywomancom and find out more about that. Okay, so that was a little little bit. I hope this has been helpful for you.

Speaker 1:

Here's the thing Make the investment, prioritize room where people are further along than you are, and that they will pour into you. Shift your mindset, overcome imposter syndrome, just like I had to in that first story that I told you about. I had to shift my mindset in that moment. Honestly, for me, in that moment, it took all the courage I could muster to not just continue to shrink even if I stayed in that room and not just to hide. That was the former version of myself. I was so accustomed to hiding and not being known. I didn't want to be known. And now I'm like no, don't you gotta put yourself out there and I know that's a lot and be strategic. So identify with people who align with your values, with your missions, with your goals. I do want you to, I wanna challenge you right here in this place, in this moment, to step into a higher level space. Whether it's an event, a mastermind or my Worthy Woman Summit, get yourself in the room. Get yourself in that room. It will change your life.

Speaker 1:

All right, I hope you enjoyed this episode. Come back for more. We're gonna continue this conversation. I'm telling you this will change your life. Okay, have an amazing day and, if you would please share this episode with someone on your stories, tag me, let me know that you're enjoying it, or send me an email or connect with me some way, and let me know what you're taking away and what you plan on doing.
