Hey, hey, friend, welcome back to the Fit Soul podcast, to the Fit Soul YouTube. I'm so glad that you are here. My name is Amy Ramsey. I relatively new space and I'm taking last week, so if you didn't hear episode number 105, I kicked off with kind you in your life, if you are looking for, like, what habits do you need, as a believer, that foster clarity and focus in your life, how to embrace your true identity in Christ, and how in the world do you build sustainable strategies for success in all areas of your life? So we're diving into this today.
Amy Ramsey:I'm super excited because the reality is is that if you're listening to this, I believe that you want to unleash your highest potential. You want to unleash your highest potential that you want to feel like me, like it's really important to me that I maximize my life. I mean, it's the only one we get. I know I say that that's a tagline of mine. It's the only life you get. You might as well maximize it, but you might as well. And too many people are living on autopilot. They're not even thinking about their actions and the reason and the purpose of their unique ability and authenticity and the incredibleness of their life and the gift that it is. So I just want to share with you, how you can, the four things I believe you have to have to really live a thriving life. These four things will help you break free from overwhelm and boost your productivity. These four things will help you develop intentional routines that align with your purpose and overcome those limiting beliefs and set bold, achievable goals. The more I have leaned into these high performance habits we're going to be talking about that I have oh my gosh. I shared last week on the podcast. I feel like I hit Amy 2.0. I have achieved more goals. My house is cleaner. This year I've lost 10 pounds, my business is like exploding and I just took a couple of weeks off, like there are so many things that are happening because I have leaned into the very things I'm going to be teaching you today. I want you to know that you can step into fully, step into this thriving, beautiful, wonderful, wonderful life that God has created just for you.
Amy Ramsey:So we're going to break down today the Fit Soul Framework. We're going to talk part one. This is a part one and a part two, and I just want to kind of keep these bite size. You may want to go back and listen to this one again, because there's so much good information. So the first thing that you need so you can unlock your potential, unlock the very essence and magnificence of who you are is your identity Understanding who God is and who he says you are. Let me repeat that Under a right understanding of who God is and who he says you are is and who he says you are. So let's talk about who God is when we have an idea of.
Amy Ramsey:Maybe you've had an earthly father or had someone in your own life who has been terrible to you, and so your idea of a father is this terrible idea. Or maybe you've been brought up in a lot of law and a religion that's very works-based and you have to look a certain part or do a certain thing to be considered good enough, and you feel like you can never attain that. If not, god is mad at you, and so you have this idea that if you don't do this or if you don't measure up in some way, god is mad at you. That's what I felt for a long time. I didn't realize that I had a broken, I had poor theology on who God is. He is a God that wants us to obey him and to walk righteously. Okay, and he is a loving father, he is full of kindness, he is full of grace. He is full of kindness, he is full of grace, he is full of mercy. In fact, the scripture says his mercy is chasing after us. He is a God of compassion, and so when we look at the character of God and who he is, it's so beautiful. When we watch the interactions that Jesus had time and time again when he was walking on the earth, it's so filled with love.
Amy Ramsey:I'm so moved when I listen, when I read in the scripture of particularly the woman at the well who had been married, is it seven times? And God chose her, the marginalized. God chose her to announce that I am he, I am the savior of the world. He chose her, that Samaritan woman. I just am so blessed by that because so much of my life I have felt like the marginalized one, never good enough. I don't have this pedigree. I feel like a failure for so many things. I've got this in my background and so I never felt good enough. And it's so precious when we look at the nature of jesus and how he chased after the marginalized.
Amy Ramsey:He talked with the prostitute and talked with all of these people that weren't, quote-unquote, good enough in the eyes of religion and I don't know if maybe you've got some way. That isn't that right view of who God is and I want to invite you today, I want to challenge you as well, that when we don't have that right view, there's no way you can step into the fullness and to the full identity of who God says you are. Okay. Clarity on this will bring you so much focus when you start to understand your true self, okay, okay, the one that god made and who he says that you are, that you are worthy, that you are fully known, you are fully seen, you're an heir of god. When you start to understand your identity is on how you are made in god's image, god, don't make no jump. When you can understand that identity and fortify your thinking around how you are magnificently created. This is so game changer. It was when I started to understand my identity in Christ.
Amy Ramsey:Now, I'd heard those words a million times in church, because I went to church all the time and I did the thing and I had a big old smile on my face, but the reality was is that I was, my soul was suffocating. I I knew the scriptures, but I didn't understand who I was, and I just feel like somebody needs to hear this and I would love for you to hit me back, email me back, hit me up in DM somewhere and let me know that it's you, that it's not on a measure of what you can do, what you've done. You can't earn this love, you can't unearn it. One of my favorite passages is Ephesians 1. I just love to read through so many different things. I'm pulling it up right now on my Bible app. There's so many beautiful things um, of what? Of who god says that we are, and so, as I'm pulling this up, I just I just want to read this to you. I want it to wash over you. I'm going to read this in the passion translation because I love that one.
Amy Ramsey:Okay, every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm has already been lavished upon us as a love gift from our wonderful heavenly father, the father of the Lord Jesus, because he sees us wrapped in Christ. This is why we celebrate him with all our hearts. Listen, and in love, he chose us. You're chosen Before he laid the foundation of the universe. You're chosen before he laid the foundation of the universe. Because of his great love, he ordained us so that we would be seen as holy in his eyes. With unstained innocence, it goes on to say it was his perfect plan to adopt us as his delightful children. God calls you adopted, chosen, beloved. There are so many beautiful things that are ours and there's a total cancellation of our sin because of the work that Jesus did. I'm just going all, all Jesus on us here. But it's when we start to understand. I love this. This is in the Passion Translation.
Amy Ramsey:Verse number eight says the super abundant grace is already powerfully working in us, releasing all forms of wisdom and practical understanding. God in his beautifulness, wonderfulness, amazingness, who created you, and the more that we understand our identity again, who he is and how he created us, the more clarity you will have. And then that that's so. The first part of this fit soul framework is. Number one is identity. Number two is alignment. When we recognize that our alignment needs to be with God, the father, our lives, with God, the Father, our lives, it's very easy in and of ourselves to get out of alignment with our greater purpose. We talked about purpose last week. Right, it's very easy to get into a place of striving, of proving, of performing, of hustling, and some of the ways that we get out of alignment to our excessive scrolling, shopping, coping mechanisms, right when our life just isn't. We're not living at that congruency with the best of who we are.
Amy Ramsey:One of the greatest things that happened in my life was a massive disruption. I had three big disruptions. Boom, boom, boom, like one, two, two, three. You know that expression they say when it rains, it pours, and I feel like that happens. I'm watching some people, um, in my life right now that are walking through so much. I'm like gosh, could one other thing happen to them in a short amount of time? And I've just learned that this happens. I'm not the only one and you're probably like, yeah, oh girl, tell me about it.
Amy Ramsey:So, in that, those disruptions in our life oftentimes realign us and I'm so grateful for those massive disruptions that I had several years ago because it was in those disruptions I was able to get off of the freaking rat race and go. I am so out of alignment. Listen, I hit clinical burnout my central nervous system. I hit clinical burnout my central nervous system. I didn't know how to sit still. It was so used to just moving, hustling, going, going, going going. And when I hit that clinical burnout, along with two other disruptions that was one of the disruptions I finally had my surrender on the table. My yes was on the table. God, I'm tired of doing this my way. In fact, I'm not doing a very good job anymore. I was stuck in striving. I was stuck in, also, a place of just self-protection. I was stuck in the ego and man, it felt so good to finally lay it all down, surrender, to finally lay it all down, surrender.
Amy Ramsey:And so the two things that we're really focusing on today is identity, knowing who God is, a right understanding of God and who he says you are, and then being in alignment with your assignment dropping the ego, dropping the striving, the hustling. It gets us off kilter and the enemy wants nothing more for us to be distracted. One of the high performance habits that we talk about a lot is energy management and oftentimes, with being out of alignment, is your energy is completely gone. There's some. I like to think about them as like God rails, if you will like. What are the God rails do you have in your life to protect you from going off the rails?
Amy Ramsey:I read in a book I think it was one of John Eldridge's books. He had a couple of really good, insightful things like this could be. I remember a couple of things. Number one is too much sugar in the diet, like kind of grabbing easy thing, easy food. Too much caffeine that would be one for me, probably still to this day, I'm just being really honest Maybe alcohol. I would say another thing that you know you're out of alignment when it's like excessive scrolling, just like numbing out. Sometimes we can get so overwhelmed or so off focus that it's just easier to start scrolling mindlessly and that never puts us back in alignment, right.
Amy Ramsey:So, as we're just going to be talking about these two things today, your identity and alignment dive into who God says that you are. I'm going to drop in the show notes I have an identity statement sheet I would love to give you and when you just embrace who God says that you are and you wrap your mind around that and not your feelings and not your emotions, it's like it was a process for me. It was a process of reprogramming my thinking. I had so much stinking thinking that it held me back and it kept me stuck. It kept me either playing small or trying to, you know, prove and accomplish and look for accolades of men when I was really able to understand, embrace and become who God says that I am and then live in alignment with his word, with his purpose and what he's calling me to do right now, game over Life changing, and so next week we're going to come back and finish up this fit soul framework. I would love to hear how this is resonating with you, because when we start to think about our life in this manner, it changes everything. It shifts everything.
Amy Ramsey:One other thing I really wanted to say about alignment is when we start to think about being in alignment with our assignment. Some of the things that we can start to think about also is maybe some areas that we're living out of alignment, like people pleasing and not having healthy boundaries in our relationship, always saying yes, saying yes, and so, as you're thinking about all of these things, how can we create a healthy, vibrant, thriving life? And all of these things I want to share with you. I'm going to share with you next week the habits that are needed to really think about. Let me go ahead and give you a little bit of a breakdown right now. We've already talked about a couple of them, but when you start to think about these things, this will give you focus. Okay, you have to have focus and clarity to move forward.
Amy Ramsey:Okay, and we're going to come back next week and we're going to talk about also energy, which I just spoke about earlier being in alignment with the best of our health. You can be successful at certain things in your life, but if your health is going to hell in a handbasket, that's your wealth. Baby, you got to take care of yourself. There's a lot of successful people, highly successful people, that haven't nurtured the relationships in their life. So we can be out of alignment with God, the father. We can be out of alignment with the important relationships in our lives and with our health, and so thinking about all of those things. So I hope this was helpful for you today.
Amy Ramsey:I want to say number one thank you for being here. I appreciate you so much listening. I am so grateful for you. I would love it if you would share this recording with a friend. Hit replay and share it, and I can't wait to come back next week and share with you the two other things that you have to have. We really wrote down identity and alignment. And wait, do. We come back next week and we're going to start putting all of this together. And if you are, excuse me, be sure and check the show notes for that free download and also, if you are looking for maybe that next place to help you grow and move forward in your life and need some help, structure, accountability, check the show notes as well and I can share with you about my high performance coaching, what that looks like, why it's made a powerful difference in my own life and in my clients' lives. All right, thank you so much for being here and until next time I'll see you then.
