Hey friends, today I want to share with you something that's gonna literally change your life. Um, but first of all, let me just start with this, I guess maybe a disruptive type of statement is that you are not burned out because you're weak. You're not exhausted because you're weak. You're burned out because you don't stop and you don't have the correct rhythms of rest built into your system. And listen, I'm gonna take this even a step further. If you missed the podcast last week, episode 147, you're wanna, you'll want to go back and listen to it and we're gonna continue a conversation. But high performers go, go, go, go, go. It's the way God made us, it's the way he wired us. And we run out of margin. And today we're gonna take more of a like a biblical approach, not just a well, add this in your life and this in your life and this and like I think that understanding what God says about rest has really helped me to go, hold up, whoa. Like, okay, so I'm making I'm going further faster because I'm really implementing the thing that God has already said. So welcome to we back. Welcome to the Fit Soul Podcast. I am your high performance coach. I am the founder of the walkworthy movement. I help faith-fueled women design a thriving life by aligning their thoughts, by activating powerful habits and accelerating results without losing peace in the process. Man, how many times have you gone after the thing, done the thing? Maybe be have you maybe you've been in a you had an assignment, a job, a goal, and it required extra. Whoo! Like, oh, extra. And you ended up absolutely exhausted, and somehow or another, you ended up losing your peace. And last week we talked about how we work from rest instead of rush. We're gonna regroup and talk about that today. But when we think about, I want you to think about this framework that I want to share with you today. This framework of align, activate, accelerate. Super simple. Of course, this is an alliteration. It's the way my brain works. It is what it is. I like it actually. So when we think about aligning our thoughts, we have agency over our thoughts. The scripture tells us over and over and over again to take our thoughts captive, to renew our mind. And we can come up with snazzy affirmations and do all the things, but I think when we really like break it down even further, for those of us that are passionate about obeying Jesus and being a follower of Jesus, we like we want to do this not just from a self-leadership perspective, but from an obedience to God. Like that my heart is in alignment with what is from the heart of the Father. And whoo, gosh, like even as I'm saying that, it just makes me choke up that there's a scripture I'm just gonna start out with today, and we broke it down a little bit last week, but is from Hebrews 4.7. And this scripture was one that I was sharing that my mentor, spiritual mentor, who's much older, broke this down for me because what he shared with me is that like type A personalities, you don't, it doesn't go away. Like the the staying, you know, having an overcommitted calendar and staying really busy actually doesn't go away. It's hard for type A's to just be. How did you know? How did you know? God, we're all we're like we're all the same, right? It's like, oh, to be? Are you kidding me? That's so boring. Like I just I look at my husband, Randy, who doesn't struggle with this, although he's very, he's very driven man. He doesn't struggle with this. He will take a nap, he will sit, he'll just read a book in the middle of the afternoon. Like he'll just he enjoys just being. He's he's really good at this. And and he just looks up and he's like, Are you gonna stop? I'm like, ah, just being is boring. But it's not like it's required. And we're gonna talk today how to not, I'm not gonna go into how do you just be. I really actually want I talked a lot about the scripture last week, and I said, I'm gonna we're gonna talk about implementation this week. So here's the scripture is it's Hebrews 4, 9 through 11. Again, if you missed episode 147, go back and listen to it after you finish listening to this one. It's not gonna hurt you to listen to this one first. But Hebrews 4, read that three times slowly. And I love, I brought this up last week. Living fearlessly, genie winship just really walks through reading a scripture slowly and asking Holy Spirit to um speak to you. God wants to speak to you. I want you to hear this. God speaks. Jesus says, My sheep know my voice, but God longs to reveal things to you. And all of us strivers, we can't get that when we're so busy, right? And maybe you're like me. Like first thing in the morning, okay, I'm slow, I'm still. I start with the word of God, I start with my quiet time, prayer time. I do, I can say honestly, I do that. I go for a walk. I usually don't bring my phone, but I go for a good prayer walk. And I really like I have to have that time in the morning. But we're talking about more than just a quiet time here. This is a different operating system, if you will. So if you're like me, I'm like all apple-based everything. It's like us looking at it and going, okay, this isn't an apple-based system that I can incorporate into my atmosphere. This is supernatural. This is supernatural capacity, right? And the scripture says that so there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For the one who has entered his rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from his. God works from rest. The one who created you and created everything works from rest. There's enough. Like when we really step into abundance, an abundance mindset, which I believe that all believers should have and and and have that as a place of am I operating from a place of there's enough, God is enough, God in me is enough, there's enough time, there's enough resources, like truly abundance. I believe that's what Jesus wants for all of us to have our mindset around is abundance. And I'm not just talking, I'm not talking about prosperity, and I'm not not talking about prosperity. I believe that there's enough. But when we believe that, like when we operate from the supernatural capacity that the Holy Spirit is inside of us and this power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead, come on, let me preach right here, is inside of me and it's already here. I just need to rely upon it. I need to access that part of my life. Oh my goodness. How often do we rely upon our self-reliance and motor throughout instead of partnering with the Holy Spirit that's active inside of us? That's so much power. Here's the verse that, like, stopped me in my tracks. Therefore, let us be diligent to enter that rest. The word diligent and rest in the same sentence. I can't even wrap my brain around that. Like, what? Be diligent to rest. I kind of am when I disconnect and I am on like vacation or I'm with my family. Like I get that there, but be diligent to interrest, like as a lifestyle. Back to my whole Apple analogy. I'm all invested in Apple. Everything kind of syncs together. Well, this piece, I need to learn to live my life from this piece so it can sync, be synced up with the power that is at work within me. I really believe that the more we can surrender, surrender, surrender, listen, Naomi Reigns. I don't know if it's a new song or if it's just new to me, but I heard it on a Spotify playlist that was just playing through like a radio station or something. I don't know. And this song came up, and oh my goodness, I love worship music so much. I listen to worship music all the time. And this song came up, I was like, oh, I'm sobbing because she just says it so beautifully. Here I am again, another surrender, another surrender. I'm like, yes, Jesus, yes, another surrender. And so the more that we can operate from this place of another surrender instead of the striving self-reliance, but the surrender of, okay, Lord, I want to partner with you in this. Um, you are my, you are the boss. You are the boss. What do you want me to do in this situation, in this scenario? God is speaking to his daughters. Are we too busy to listen? Okay. Let me rephrase that and ask you this question. God is speaking. Are you listening? Are you surrendered? Are you allowing the space for the Holy Spirit to come in and talk to you and to invade in like the most powerful, beautiful, amazing way? We want this thriving life. And listen, as a follower of Jesus Christ, one who is walking worthy of my calling, I want to give you the tools, the resources, the frameworks so you can have a thriving life. Jesus says in John 10, 10, I came to give you life abundantly. Some translations say life to the full. Some translations say overflowing life. The river of life is flowing through us and in us. All we have to do is access it. It's not doing more. And when we activate and access that level, that supernatural capacity, oh my gosh, all things are possible. John 15 says, all things are possible with God. And without me, you can do nothing. I want that all things are possible with God. And it really does change how we um are living our lives. I hope this is encouraging you. It's meant to encourage you. It's meant to like to really um help you. So here's what I want to share with you today is you doing this is working smarter, not harder. This is not doing more, it's being. And when you actually create white space in your life, I'm calling this white space wins. This is your success strategy. White space for the win. I was at a conference, um, the global leadership conference in Chicago. It was absolutely amazing. It's in August, and it was so good. There was a speaker there that talked about how important it is for us. So let's let's shift. I want to shift right now and give you like some practical, tactical takeaways so you can incorporate. I wanted to give you that spiritual piece first. Like don't like fire you up. I hope that fired you up. I hope it motivated you. I hope it encouraged you so you can work from rest. Excuse me. And the new planner that I've got coming out, I don't know when it's coming out. It's to the editor now. Some of these things are, I have never done this before, so I kind of don't know like when to tell you it's going to be there. But after hearing this, Juliet Funt, she has a book called The One Minute Pause. When I heard her speak, I was like, immediately I ordered her book and I was like, okay, that is brilliant. But she just talks about what you can do each day to what can you reduce from your schedule? She goes into big corporations, and that's the first thing they start to do is what can you eliminate? What can you take off of your plate? I don't know about y'all, but y'all, I am the queen of, oh, I can get all of these things done in this, you know, amount of time. Oh, of course I can do this. Like on a daily basis, on a weekly basis, on a monthly basis, I always think I can do, I don't know, I don't know why. It's like I am starting to learn and go, oh, well, I probably won't be able to get all of that done. But when I started to look at my daily schedule, and this is all in the planner when it comes, it's going to change your life. It's a whole system and strategy, but is to pick the top three things that have to be done. What are your priorities for the day? When you start to operate from a place of priority and you have that clarity, your brain knows where to go. I promise you, this alone will increase your productivity big time. So each day, like, what are my top three? And then from the top three, what are the tasks associated with that? But each day, and if you're the same way, if you're like the to-do list, uh just write it all down so you can check it off and it makes you feel like feel really good, you're in the right place. Look at your day and say, What can I reduce? What can I take off? And then in the planner, I after I had I heard her speak, I went back and added a whole like a key symbol type of a thing where on each day you implement white space. It's WS. So if you already have a planner, just start using this in that planner. Write out a WS. She talks about a one-minute pause. What can you do? It doesn't have to take up a whole lot of time, but what can you do during the day to just to regroup? My mentor, one of my mentors, Brennan Burchard, talks about he has uh like a uh uh um some breath work and some different things that he does. I've got some different things that I do just to rejuvenate my heart and my soul and just to reconnect instead of hustle, hustle, hustle, hustle, hustle, go. So, what can you do? I want to give you just a few ideas. Like these are not rocket science, but it's just some some tactical, practical for you. Because I really believe that if you incorporate this, it's gonna increase your productivity. Science shows it as well. And this may be the very thing that's missing from your high performance. I think that you will perform at a higher level if you implement what we're talking about. Okay, so here's a couple of things. Just take a pause. Yep. Just step outside, go outside, no phone, maybe five minutes, ten minutes, fifteen minutes. And just I like to walk, especially if you're in a sedentary um job or you you're sitting a lot, go just move your body, walk around your yard. I don't know if you can walk out in your neighborhood, whatever. All right, so step outside, play worship music, just play some worship music and just um, you know, take that moment to like her kind of recalibrate. Brew a cup of like hot, get you some hot tea. I'm trying to, I haven't, well, I shouldn't say I'm trying to reduce my caffeine intake. That's really not true. I I'm not doing anything toward that end. Um, I'm gonna work on that bad habit one of these days. So I have um in my notes here to like make a cup of hot tea or coffee and just sit in silence before your next meeting. Take five deep breaths, like do some breath work. If if you even just slowed down, like there's all these fancy counts. Breathe in for four, hold for seven, exhale real fast. Like they're great, don't get me wrong. And all of them activate different parts of your uh nervous system. So, but even if you just stopped and just did some deep breathing, here's a novel idea. Pick up the phone and call a friend, like reconnect with others that will refill and recharge your batteries. Do a minute of gratitude journaling. But just take, even if it's just one minute, pause, pause for the day. And it feels like a little bit of an indulgence. I'm not gonna lie, it feels like a little bit of an indulgence, but I have learned that that white space, even sometimes I'll just do something cathartic. Okay. I I am the queen of, listen, I can wash and fold the, I mean, I can wash and dry the clothes, but I'm not even gonna lie, like they will sit on the couch. We have a couch in our bedroom, they will sit there for a week and a half or so. And when we start to run out of clean clothes and clean socks, I'm like, oh man, they're there. So even cathartic things, I'll just sometimes just put on some worship music and I will sit and fold clothes, and that's white space. That's just it refuels me. And it feels really good to have my clothes folded and put away and then my my couch. I'm like, oh my gosh, I forgot what it looked like. Speaking of, I have got to take care of my laundry now. Okay, so high performance isn't about doing more, but it really is about having sustained success in every area of your life. It's about walking in joy and peace, purpose and strength. Listen, not just for this project that you've got or for your career, this is for the long haul. I um have a client we were working together, and she told me that she just couldn't believe how much her marriage had transformed. Like we're on week three together. And she's like, I hired you to achieve a certain goal, but when you work with me, because most of the women that come to me are high performers and they uh want to walk worthy of their calling, Jesus is a priority in their life. So she came to me, Jesus is a priority in her life. And so I walk them through an exercise and really develop the focal points of what they want to work on. And oftentimes the goal of whatever the goal is, what manifest as well is okay, wait a minute. This relationship is a high priority in my life, and it's not so great right now. I'm not showing up as the wife that I want to be, the mom that I want to be, the daughter that I want to be. I'm not showing up in my community or service or whatever, or health and wellness, like, oh my gosh, my health and wellness is not where it needs to be. I am all in over here on this and I have forgotten that, and I'm exhausted and I'm tired and not taking care of myself and gaining weight and you know, all the things. So this it was just really beautiful because she was, she she she's hired, she's hired me for a particular goal. And what we what she said on the call, she was like, I had no idea that putting my marriage back on priority would help me go further faster. Just that one shift alone is making a difference in every other area in my life. When we think about our energy, we think about the things that like fuel our energy, but also drain our energy. And so I want you to think about your energy drainers. That was an energy drainer for her. And when we are walking worthy of our calling, like our highest service, I believe always love God, love others. Our highest um service is our contribution to others and thinking to myself, how am I showing up as a wife? How am I showing up to my children? How am I showing up in with my family? How am I even showing up like difficult relationships, right? How am I, what am I? I I like to show up with like exuberant joy. Like I have that on my phone, it comes up on a timer a couple of times a day. I want to show up with exuberant joy, not just to the people that are close to me in my life, but to the strangers that I meet. How are you showing up? And are you allowing yourself the space to reconnect back to that highest version of the woman you're becoming? It's our culture where we can, and it's our our own fault, honestly, where we just get stuck in the day in, the day out, the day in, the day out, and we forget to recalibrate, to reconnect, to walk worthy of our calling. That everywhere we go, we have the opportunity to make impact for God's kingdom. Every everywhere you go, you are bringing heaven to earth, to the kingdom of God. You have that opportunity to make impact, to improve someone's life or their day. And this is a beautiful, wonderful responsibility that we bear as daughters of the king. Okay, so white space for the win. I want to challenge you to make room for white space. What could that look like for you? Real quickly before I sign off, just one final, one final thought for you. A lot of us front load our week. Like we crush it Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and we might do so much Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday that we operate a little bit differently on Thursday, Friday. That's a normal thing. If you actually, if you're not doing that and you want, it works really well for me. I I shifted to that, gosh, I don't know how many years ago. Like, for instance, on Fridays, I don't do any coaching calls unless it's an emergency. I don't do unless it's an emergency, like any um where I have to be on camera. I'm on camera all the time. So I don't want to be on camera. I don't want to do interviews on Friday. And I want to wrap up admin and just like kind of wind down my week. So um thinking through that rhythm and that process, this particular client that I was just telling you about, we talked through how you can incorporate more white space on your go days. So maybe yours are like mine. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Woo! Law. Those days are so filled. There's used to be no margin. No, I actually plan for I I indulge in a little margin on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. And it just feels so good each day. It's like, okay, I just feel more imbalance. So you want to go further, faster. Where can you implement more white space? Rest is your supernatural strategy here. Rest from work. Diligently rest from work. Hebrews 4 11. So would love to know how this resonated with you. I am truly determined to help you unleash your full potential by partnering with God in every area of your life. And I want to help you hardwire these high performance habits, these things that we're talking about today. So a couple of the ones that I talked about today a little bit would be energy, productivity, and leadership. You know, those are all part of the high performance habits. They're clarity, energy, productivity, courage, excellence, and leadership. And we want to learn mastery level over these high performance habits, not just let me just try to get by. You really want like that's part of growth in this area. This is also part of like spiritual maturity. It's like, how am I doing? Am I stronger in my faith than I was a year ago? Am I a more grateful person? Am I really being changed? Can I see the marked difference in my life? And so the same thing with these high performance habits. I'm really, really determined to help you understand what they are and to help you hardwire them. Because I know this will 100% change your life, because it absolutely has changed mine. So as I am shifting off of this uh podcast, here's what I just want to remind you partner with God in everything. He is our boss. And when we go to him, when we operate in the way that he has given us through the scripture, and he's role modeled the way for sure by working from rest, it will change everything in our life. And I want you to know that the world is the world needs who you already are, your truest self, the way that God designed you to step up, step up and to be the most extraordinary version of yourself and to activate all that God has inside of you, and it'll make a difference. I promise you, when you do that, it will make a difference in your sphere of influence. Oh man, that's the the workers are few. Uh the harvest is ripe, and the workers are few. So walk worthy, my friend. I'm so glad you're here. Um, share this podcast with others and um have an amazing week.
